Latest News on the Grimsby Wargames Society and Website

Since I last posted here, there have been some new developments with our website. I installed new Galleries in the website at the end of October 2007. You are welcome to view them. You are even more than welcome to become a registered member and upload your wargaming photos to our website, if you wish. Our new galleries can be found at http://www.gywargames.co.uk/pics I shall be uploading loads more photos over the Christmas period.

I posted my photos of the Durham Wargames Group Annual Show on November 23rd 2007. You can find them here:

Not had a chance to upload to our new galleries all my Partizan May 2007 photos - the full collection, I mean - but you can view my Partizan photos so far in my personal album here:

Also announcing that in 2008, the Grimsby Wargames Society is going Mobile! The club will get its own specially designed mobile site, in addition to its main website. Thus joining thousands of Mobile sites around the world on the Mobile Internet, giving us more exposure. It will have all the elements of the main website, including viewing of RSS Feeds, downloading/viewing of our photos, dedicated Rapid Fire! page (again) and much more.

At the moment I am considering building a Wiki for the club, which is also where the Club Bibliography will be placed: Listing of Articles/Photos by Members that have been published in various Wargames Magazines.

Finally, if you are in the area of our Club this Friday, 28th December 2007, you are all invited to join us for a huge game set in the War of the Spanish Succession. 10am Start. Thousands of Figures on the table. Organised by our own Paul Robinson, who no doubt will be posting the game report on his blog at http://grimsbywargaming.blogspot.com I will be posting and taking photos for my blog at http://grantsgrimsbygames.blogspot.com

More information can be found on Paul's blog here: http://grimsbywargaming.blogspot.com/2007/12/grimsby-open.html

This notice was also posted on The Miniatures Page on Christmas Eve. View the full news item here:

On another note I would like to add that several members of our club have recently started building terrain boards for our World War 1 games, which are very popular at the club at the moment. You can keep up to date with their progress by clicking on the "WW1 Terrain Boards" link on my blog.

Happy New Year to all you.

    Thanks
